School Improvement

Each year the Governors and Senior Leadership Team write a School Improvement Plan which sets out the strategic direction of the school for the academic year.  The focus for this plan will be led by the school's Self-Evaluation which reviews the impact of school improvement initiatives taking into account outcomes for all pupils. The views of the Local Authority and Ofsted are also considered when developing this plan.

The impact of this plan is reviewed regularly through a range of monitoring tasks such as: lesson observations, book scrutiny and pupil conferencing.  Governors will also contribute to this monitoring both formally, in line with the school's monitoring calendar, but also informally through attendance at school for activities such as assemblies and exhibitions.  Annually the school receives a review of the Learning and Leadership of the school by the local authority which is used to inform this process.
