Logging in
How do I get Google Classroom at home?
On a PC/Mac/Laptop
Open your internet browser and type in the following address: classroom.google.com (copy or click this link). We will show you how to log in, in the next step.
On a Mobile Phone/Tablet
The easiest way to access Google Classroom is via the app. This is available to download for free on iOS and Android devices. Look for this logo in the app store and don't forget to ask an adult's permission before downloading!
Alternatively, you can log in using the same method as you would if you were using a computer (see above) using your device's internet browser.
On a Xbox and Playstation
Classroom can be opened on Xbox and Playstation. There isn’t an app that the students can add to their consoles. Instead, they are going to have to use the built-in browsers that come on the two devices. On Xbox, it is Microsoft Edge. On Playstation, it is the “www” browser, each one has a search function they can access on the home screen.
Once the browser has been opened:

Type in google.classroom.com in the URL bar.

A prompt for a Google account will appear.

Follow the instruction for logging in.
If you have a keyboard you can plug in, it will be much easier to navigate. Otherwise, you will have to use your controllers to click on the classroom tiles, open up assignments and type.
How do I log in to Google Classroom?
You will have been given your Google login by your class teacher, this is the same as the password you use to log into the chromebooks. Your teachers would have helped you do this. Don't worry if you forget your password, we can always help you reset it.
Remember your password is private to you and should not be shared with anyone else.
When you use the Chromebooks or Ipad at school, you will log in to these devices using your Google logins. These devices know you are at school so you only need to add the first part of your username like this:
USERNAME: Firstname.surname e.g. Harry.Potter or Hermione.Granger
When you login at home, you need to add in some extra information to link up to your school account. Your username will now look like this:
USERNAME: firstname.surname@cherrywoodschool.co.uk e.g. harry.potter@cherrywoodschool.co.uk
When you open Google Classroom you will be taken to a login screen. Enter your password. If you want to check you are entering it correctly, click the eye icon to see what you have typed and click next.
If you are already logged into a google account you will need to add a second account.
You have now signed in to Google Classroom!
You should see a banner with a picture and your class name. Click on that to get started and open your class stream. Everyone should see two classrooms, your class and assemblies. If you are in a phonics group you will be also have a phonics classroom.
If it is the first time you are logging in you will first need to join the classroom by clicking the join button.
Once you have joined the classrooms you have been invited to, you need to click on the classroom you wish to enter and it will take you to the stream for that classroom.
