Design Technology
Our new unit of work was cooking. We tested shop bought pasta sauces and then carried out some market research to help us to decide our own ingredients for our pasta sauces (thank you Year 4 for helping us!). Finally, we created a recipe and made our sauces. We all agreed that it was cheaper and healthier to make our own food and that we could do this easily at home. The pasta sauces were delicious!
To start our new term, we became survivors. First, we chose 3 items that we would save if we were stranded in the forest, then we made some dens to shelter us. We had great fun and learned lots of engineering skills, mathematics including angles and knowledge of properties of materials. We were very pleased with the end products.
