This morning after another full and hot breakfast, we had two different activities. We were split into two groups and went to the opposite activity to the other group.
One task was the trapeze ~ we had to climb up a tall wooden pole and stand on a small platform. Then we had to count to three and jump off, trying to touch a big, white ball hanging in the air. It was really challenging and took a lot of courage to complete but everyone had a go. The best bit was that we got to feel like we were flying when we were brought down on the ropes and harness!
The other other activity was the challenge course. It was a bit like a huge obstacle course and we got very muddy as we climbed over A frames, between tyres, along wobbly bridges and under nets. Even the teachers had a go and it was loads of fun!
After a tasty lunch of various burgers and chips or sandwiches plus salad and fruit, we went to the rifle range. Some of us thought it might be really loud but there were no bullets, just tiny pellets. we learned how to load a rifle safely and how to aim at a target and shoot. For our first five shots, not all of us were able to hit the inside of the target but after that, we all improved for our final six shots and some of us even managed to hit the bullseye!
Then it was time to play aeroball. We had to play in pairs against another pair and bounce on a trampoline to throw a ball through the basketball hoop above our opponents head. It was loads of fun and Bea was our instructor. It was her last aeroball game before the end of the season and she said she was glad she got to run it with Cherrywood pupils as we were all so good.
Before dinner we had some time to start our packing for tomorrow. We had a delicious final dinner of either lasagne or chicken nuggets and potato wedges and salad with a waffle for pudding. Then we got to visit the shop. Some of us bought mementoes and some bought sweets but we didn’t eat them all at once because we had to go to our evening activity ~ Ambush. It was basically a game of hide and seek in the woods, at night but with a twist. You had to give the seekers clues to where you had hidden but you could also set false trails. We had such a great time and both teams won two games. Then it was back to our rooms for showers and bed for our last night at PGL.
